Mr. Refined presented its Second Annual Bougie Brunch at Cheri in Harlem. As guests sipped champagne and munched on chocolates, art, music, and fashion combined for an afternoon of indulgence. Hearkening back to the days of the Harlem Renaissance, guests enjoyed live music and pop art performances.
Libya Pugh‘s jazzy vocals accompanied by pianist Germono Toussaint set the tone with Throw it Away, On a Clear Day, and the perennial Summertime. Dannis Winston keep it soulful and sexy with Stay by Sam Smith and an original composition titled Love Lubbay. Ayanna Lee‘s impassioned voice accompanied by guitarist Daniel Haedicke lulled and stirred hearts with original compositions, Circle and Burn. Her last song was an ode to all black men, singing a cover of Emeli Sande’s Breaking the Law. Conceptual pop artist, Justin Gilzene, whose work was featured at Sol Studios, did a live painting of the iconic Fat Albert.
