War Room the Movie – Focus on the Black Family

While most of main stream media has deemed the black family dead, the movie War Room spotlights a modern professional black family. If you longed for a return of the Huxtables, then War Room will help fill that void. Although there is an overtly Christian message, the movie looks at the middle class black family dynamic without focusing on gangs and drugs.

The story follows a married couple. After seemingly having it all, a big house and cars, things are not marital bliss. Their daughter lacks for nothing except the love of her parents, both too busy with careers to spend quality time with her. Not only have they neglected their daughter, they have disregarded each other. Indifference in marriage leaves a door open. The husband entertains that opportunity. He later finds out that his wife knows about his indiscretion, but has not said anything to him. That is the background for the dinner scene below.

War Room in theaters August 28th.
